www.ala.org It is an important part of Librarian's / Teacher's role to encourage reading and Library use positively. Unfortunately, Reading habit has lost importance as both the young and the old are glued to T.V and other. The teachers can achieve this by Telling pupils of books that might be of their interest. Excusing pupils to go to the Library as the need for reference material arises. Making assignments requiring the pupils to use Library resources. Distributing suggested readings through mimeographed materials. CLASS ROOM LIBRARIES LIBRARY PROGRAMMES & PROJECTS like as Story Hours, Walls Magazines, Mathematics Puzzles, Science Quizzes and Jokes etc. BOOK SEMINAR HOLIDAY PROJECT WORK BOOK FAIRS BOOK WEEK Like as Book Marks , Book Covers, Joys of Reading, BOOK DONATION DRIVE YOUNG READER CLUBS LIBRARIAN DAY ( RANGANATHAN DAY) INTERNATIONAL LIBRARY DAY AWARDS (Both student and teacher) best library user awards, the more book reader award.
